North Atlantic House shows contemporary art and culture from the North Atlantic countries, which all have a natural rich cultural life.

North Atlantic culture and art
The purpose of the house is to promote awareness of the three countries’ art and culture, and strengthen future cooperation. Many innovative artistic environments bloom here – both the younger and older generation in visual arts, music, theater and film. Art is often inspired by the countries’ specific landscapes, light and cultural history and has a strong visual, bodily and musical expression. It provides an art that surprises – and that excites all the senses.

Exhibitions, events and New Nordic cuisine at Noma
North Atlantic House presents a mixture of exhibitions, music , events and debates, which present both familiar and new sides of the North Atlantic countries. At the restaurant Noma you can get a taste of New Nordic food. The famous Michelin star restaurant has demonstrated that the Nordic cuisine is the kitchen of the future – in 2010, 2011 and 2012 Noma was ranked as the world’s best restaurant.

A preserved warehouse in Christianshavn
The framework for North Atlantic House is one of Copenhagen harbor’s impressive buildings: a large preserved warehouse located at the end of Strandgade in Christianshavn. The warehouse was built in 1767 and was the base of North Atlantic expeditions, travel and trade. North Atlantic House is also home to Greenland and the Faroe Islands Representations, the Embassy of Iceland and a number of companies and organizations linked to the North Atlantic and Arctic.
