Copenhagen’s secret museum
At the entrance of the church you are led up a staircase that leads into a long corridor with possibly Copenhagen’s finest and largest windows. You find the museum behind the altar on the first floor, where the circular wall and the large windows give the museum a beautiful setting in the historic rooms.

Visit the ancient ruins
From the large bright room you can go down into the church basement, where the exposed remains of the Gothic church are located. Here you can see where the original street level was. The ruins date back to 1316 and are the second largest accessible ruins in Copenhagen after Christiansborg Palace.

Church of Our Lady
Vor Frue Kirke or in English Church of Our Lady is a rare seamless space where architecture and décor are elegantly united. Vor Frue Kirke was designed by Danish architect Christian Frederik Hansen and Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen in the first half of the 1800s. The church’s history is closely linked to Copenhagen’s development from its foundation, the “upgrade” to a university town and later as the center of the Reformation’s violent rebellion and finally as a target for the British shelling in 1807.
